Do the business owners lose control of their businesses?

No, our clients retain complete control over their business. As co-employers, Omni and our clients contractually share employer responsibilities and liabilities. Our clients retain the responsibility of employee supervision. Omni assumes the duties and some specific liabilities associated with a "general" employer for purposes of administration, payroll, taxes and benefits. We also will maintain complete employee records and administer workers' compensation and unemployment. In general terms, Omni will focus on employment-related issues and our clients are responsible for their actual business operations.
